Richmond RCMP are investigating the death of a newborn baby.
On Thursday, RCMP say they learned a 20 year old woman gave birth to a boy in late January at her boyfriend's home.
The baby was wrapped in a towel, put in a garbage bag and discarded in a nearby dumpster at a school.
When police checked the dumpster, they were told it had been emptied.
On Sunday, dozens of searchers found the infant's body at the Burns Bog Landfill.
Charges of infanticide, consealing the body of a child and indignity to a dead body are being recommended against the mother.
An autopsy still has to be done to determine if the baby was alive at birth.
