Sources have confirmed to CKNW that a verbal agreement is in place for BC Lions owner David Braley to take ownership of the Toronto Argonauts from David Cynamon and Howard Sokolowski.
Lawyers for both sides worked through the weekend on several drafts of an agreement to transfer the team to Braley. After a seventh attempt the two sides have agreed to terms, with some minor contract language yet to be worked out.
The two side will go to the league for a telephone conference call of the board of governors to ratify the deal sometime this week.
