We were very lucky to speak live in studio with Stan Peterson (ex-principal at Colleen and Gordie Howe Middle School)
He was set to go to Haiti from Vancouver on a mission and missed the devastation by 20 HOURS!! He was in Miami waiting to take a flight to Haiti hours before the earthquake.
Please take a moment to look at the website http://www.hearttohearthaiti.com/ and help out a cause that we know firsthand will help those in need.
Thank you Stan Peterson and Heat to Heart for the amazing working you do from us here at the Fox.

The Abbotsford Vineyard Church and Heart to Heart Ministries are sending much needed food to Haiti as part of our regular contributions to the area. Because of this week's devastating earthquake, the immediate need is far greater than the one container that was originally being sent. We have shipping contacts and help on the ground in place so there is opportunity for 10 additional containers of food to be shipped from Abbotsford quickly.
We are asking the communities of the Lower Mainland– businesses, organizations, churches, and individuals, for help in this relief effort. The Canadian Government has pledged to match donations made to Charities who are helping in Haiti so financial donations are best. With every dollar we raise we will be able to double our efforts. The cost to ship one container is $10,000 so a total of $100,000 is needed to send the additional aid. Donations can be made online at Heart to Heart or sent to Abbotsford Vineyard Church 34629A Delair Road, Abbotsford, B.C. V2S 2E1. Cheques should be made out to "Haiti Relief Fund."
Abbotsford Vineyard Church has been working with Heart to Heart in Haiti for over 5 years, providing care for orphans, and humanitarian aid for the area of Grand Goave, just outside of Port-au-Prince. We have partnered with Rogers Flour the past two years to send food relief and have also worked with other aid agencies to provide food, clothing and other needed supplies for the Haitian people.

Foxer Kaitie Bakker is up to a great cause:
Last week she joined one of the world's largest charity sports training programs, Team In Training, to raise money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Canada (LLSC), as well as run my very first half marathon. I'll be participating in the BMO Vancouver 1/2 marathon (21.1km) on May 2nd, and my goal is to raise $2000 by that date. I'm nearly half way there already due to the generosity of friends, family and coworkers, but I'd very much like to surpass that goal.
If I am able to raise $1800 more than the original $2000 goal, I will receive a special Team In Training purple iPod Nano.
I do not want nor need this iPod, and it's not why I'm raising money, but if The Fox can somehow let listeners know of my efforts on air or on the website so I can reach the $3800 goal, I would like to give that iPod to a patient who is battling one of these terrible diseases. Everyone who donates will be supporting LLSC's mission: to cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families.
With the iPod, everyone who donates will also bring a smile to one particular patient with the gift of music!
To make a secure online donation, this is the link: http://my.e2rm.com/personalPage.aspx?SID=2449169
Those who contribute will receive an email confirmation, along with a tax receipt, and I will be notified as soon as a donation has been made. I thank everyone in advance for their support, and really appreciate the generosity!
